Cookies and your choices

When you first visit our website you will see a short notice asking how you would like us to use cookies. Everyone sees it, wherever they are. You can accept everything, reject everything optional, or choose category by category. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and neither is hidden behind the other.

We group cookies into three categories.

Necessary. These cannot be switched off and we do not ask about them, because without them the site does not work. They cover signing in, keeping your place while you browse a candidate pool, protecting forms against tampering, and remembering the cookie choice you made so we do not ask again.

Two more things sit in this category and we would rather name them than leave you to find out:

• Our own page counts. We record which pages were opened, in our own database, using a short random identifier that changes every visit. It is never shared with anyone else, it is not used for advertising, and it cannot be used to work out who you are. It is how we know whether a page is worth keeping. It keeps running whatever you choose.
• The booking calendar. If you press a button to book a call, the calendar loads so that you can use it. You asked for it, so we do not make you accept cookies first.

Analytics. Google Analytics, so we can see which pages lead to a conversation and which do not. Off until you say otherwise.

Advertising. Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, LinkedIn and Reddit, so we can tell which adverts led to an enquiry and stop paying for the ones that did not. These platforms may set their own cookies and may receive a record of the action you took, such as submitting a form. Off until you say otherwise.

Nothing in the analytics or advertising categories loads before you accept it. This is not a setting we ask those companies to respect. Their code is simply not placed on the page until you have agreed to it. Where Google's tools are used, we also use Google Consent Mode, which tells Google what you have agreed to before any of its tags start.

Your choice is stored in your own browser, not on our servers, and we do not link it to you. Clearing your browser data will clear it, and we will ask again.

Changing your mind. Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page. The notice will reopen with your current choice shown, and a new choice takes effect immediately.

We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no agreed standard for what a website should do when it receives one. The cookie notice is how we ask, and it is the setting we follow.
